GRIT Track RFiD
GRIT Track Reader
Tool-level access control — pick the frequency your shop uses.
The GRIT Track RFID family locks a tool's power until an authorized badge is scanned, logs who ran the tool and for how long, and manages it all through Hub Pro. Every reader in the family uses the same GRIT Mesh Network and the same admin interface — the only difference is which badge or tag format it reads. Select a variant below to see the details for that frequency.
13.56MHz RFID
The 13.56MHz reader is the standard GRIT Track option for shops issuing their own badges and tags. Works with common MIFARE and compatible card/key-fob formats. Ships with one GRIT access card to get you started.
Key Features
- 13.56MHz standard: Works with common MIFARE-family cards and tags
- Per-tool authorization: Blocks power until an authorized badge is scanned
- Runtime logging: Records who ran the tool and for how long
- Hub Pro integration: Managed through the GRIT Track admin interface
- RGB status LED: Shows locked, idle, or authorized at a glance
Specifications
- SKU GAP-GT1001
- Frequency 13.56MHz
- Power 6V via low-voltage terminal
- Connectivity GRIT Mesh Network Pro
- Status RGB LED indicator
In the Box
- 1x GRIT Track RFID 13.56MHz reader (GAP-GT1001)
- 10 ft. 18/2 solid copper thermostat wire
- 10 ft. wire wrap
- VHB mounting tape
- 1x GRIT access card with plastic protector and lanyard
Compatibility
Right choice for most shops issuing new badges from scratch. Pair with a GRIT Trigger on the tool and Hub Pro for per-user management.
125KHz RFID
The 125KHz reader works with low-frequency prox cards — the format still common in legacy building access systems (HID Prox, EM4100). Drop it into a shop that already issues 125KHz badges and keep using the cards your users already carry.
Key Features
- 125KHz low-frequency: Reads common prox card formats (HID Prox, EM4100)
- Legacy-friendly: Works with badges from older building access systems
- Per-tool authorization: Blocks power until an authorized badge is scanned
- Runtime logging: Records who ran the tool and for how long
- Hub Pro integration: Managed through the GRIT Track admin interface
Specifications
- SKU GAP-GT1002
- Frequency 125KHz
- Power 6V via low-voltage terminal
- Connectivity GRIT Mesh Network Pro
- Status RGB LED indicator
In the Box
- 1x GRIT Track RFID 125KHz reader (GAP-GT1002)
- 10 ft. 18/2 solid copper thermostat wire
- 10 ft. wire wrap
- VHB mounting tape
Compatibility
Pick this one if your facility already issues 125KHz prox cards and you don't want to reissue badges. Confirm card format with GRIT before ordering.
Important Notes
Contact GRIT before ordering to confirm compatibility with your existing 125KHz card format.
NFC / Mobile
The NFC reader authorizes tools from a phone tap instead of a physical card. Shop users carry the GRIT app on the phone they already have — no badges to issue, lose, or replace.
Key Features
- NFC tap-to-authorize: Unlocks tools from a phone running the GRIT app
- No badges to manage: Eliminates the issue/replace/lose cycle
- Per-tool authorization: Blocks power until an authorized user taps in
- Runtime logging: Records who ran the tool and for how long
- Hub Pro integration: Managed through the GRIT Track admin interface
Specifications
- SKU GAP-GT1003
- Frequency 13.56MHz NFC
- Credential GRIT mobile app
- Connectivity GRIT Mesh Network Pro
- Status RGB LED indicator
In the Box
- 1x GRIT Track RFID NFC reader (GAP-GT1003)
- 10 ft. 18/2 solid copper thermostat wire
- 10 ft. wire wrap
- VHB mounting tape
Compatibility
Best fit for shops, schools, and makerspaces that would rather use phones than badges. Users install the GRIT app; admins approve access through Hub Pro.
Wiegand
The Wiegand reader plugs into the protocol your facility already uses — letting GRIT Track authorize tool access without reissuing badges. Pair it with a Trigger and Hub Pro, and the only people who can run the tool are the ones your access control system already approved.
Key Features
- Wiegand protocol: Drop-in for existing corporate access control systems
- Per-tool authorization: Blocks power until an authorized badge is scanned
- Runtime logging: Records who ran the tool and for how long
- Hub Pro integration: Managed through the GRIT Track admin interface
- Status LED: Shows locked, idle, or authorized at a glance
Specifications
- SKU GAP-GT1004
- Protocol Wiegand
- Use Case Corporate / institutional
- Connectivity GRIT Mesh Network Pro
- Status LED indicator
In the Box
- 1x GRIT Track RFID Wiegand reader (GAP-GT1004)
- Mounting hardware
Compatibility
For facilities already running Wiegand-based access control. Requires GRIT Hub Pro for multi-zone and per-user management. Pair with a GRIT Trigger to gate the tool itself.
Installation
Mount the reader at each tool station, land the Wiegand leads on the GRIT Trigger or control box, and pair with Hub Pro through the GRIT Track admin interface.
Important Notes
Contact GRIT before ordering to confirm compatibility with your existing Wiegand access control system.
UHF Long-Range
The UHF reader scans badges and asset tags from distance, making it the right choice for inventory audits, tool crib management, and access zones too large for a short-range reader. Pair with Hub Pro to power full asset tracking and hands-free tool authorization.
Key Features
- Long-range UHF: Scans tagged assets and badges from feet away, not inches
- Inventory mode: Bulk-scan tool cribs and asset rooms
- Per-user access: Authorizes tools via GRIT Hub Pro
- Hub Pro integration: Managed through the GRIT Track admin interface
- Runtime logging: Records every scan and tool event
Specifications
- SKU GAP-GT1005
- Frequency UHF
- Range Long-range
- Use Case Inventory + access
- Connectivity GRIT Mesh Network Pro
In the Box
- 1x GRIT Track RFID UHF reader (GAP-GT1005)
- Mounting hardware
Compatibility
Ideal for tool cribs, asset rooms, and larger access zones. Works alongside the GRIT Asset Tracker for full tool checkout and check-in workflows. Requires Hub Pro for per-user management.
Installation
Mount the reader at the inventory or access point, supply power, and pair with Hub Pro through the GRIT Track admin interface. Configure tag-to-user and tag-to-asset mappings in the GRIT app.
Important Notes
Long-range UHF scanning may require environmental tuning for metal-rich shop environments — contact GRIT for site planning.
*GRIT Hub Pro is required for GRIT Track RFID systems.
