GRIT 120V 15A Laser Trigger
Laser Trigger
Start exhaust automatically when a compatible 120V laser cutter runs. Rated for up to 15 amps.
The 120V Laser Trigger reports laser activity to the GRIT Hub to start exhaust fans, open blast gates, and log runtime. Choose current sensing or a compatible controller running signal. A controller signal requires a separate sensing cable and may require access to the laser's electronics compartment. Use one Trigger per laser.
Key Features
- Activity sensing: Detects a running job from current draw or a compatible controller signal
- Automated exhaust: Tells the Hub to start fans and open gates when the laser runs
- Runtime logging: Tracks who ran the laser, when, and for how long
- Access control lockout: Blocks power until an authorized badge is scanned
- Status LED: RGB LED shows locked, idle, or running at a glance

Compatibility
Check that your laser works with the Trigger's 120V, 15A continuous and NEMA 5-15 ratings. Choose a sensing method that reliably detects when your laser is running. Pair with GRIT Gates and Collectors for automated exhaust. Hub Pro required for RFiD access control and multi-zone systems.
Laser models we've worked with
We've reviewed wiring or helped plan installations for these lasers. The connection depends on the controller and Trigger version.
| Laser models | Installation notes |
|---|---|
| BOSS LS-1420, LS-1630, LS-2440, LS-3655 | BOSS wiring guide available for the matching Ruida controller. Requires the 24V signal-input Trigger. Machine testing is still pending. |
| Thunder Nova series, including Nova 35 and Nova 51 | Exhaust-control and access-control planning. Contact GRIT to confirm the connection for your controller. |
| Thunder Bolt Pro | Exhaust-control wiring reviewed with manufacturer support. Contact GRIT for the connection details. |
| Trotec Speedy 360 | Running-signal connection investigated. Contact GRIT to confirm the connector and wiring for your machine. |
| Epilog Helix and Fusion | Running-signal sensing remains under review. Contact GRIT before choosing a Trigger. |

Installation
Connect power according to the Trigger's label and instructions, then set up current sensing or the controller signal. Have a qualified installer connect any wiring inside the laser, using the instructions for that machine.
- How to Install the GRIT Laser Trigger: power connections, sensing options, Hub setup and testing.
- How to Install the GRIT Laser Trigger on BOSS Lasers: exact controller terminals, wiring and pictures from the BOSS and Ruida manuals. Use the 24V signal-input version of the Trigger.
*GRIT Hub is required for device functionality.
Important Notes
Check that your laser draws under 15A continuous before ordering. Systems with GRIT Track require a software upgrade (+25%). Contact us before ordering so we can configure your devices.
