Automated gas valve control for welding stations — opens on presence, shuts off on departure.

The GRIT Solenoid Control is a normally closed brass solenoid valve that pairs with the GRIT Presence Trigger (GA-TR8000) to automate gas supply at welding stations. When the Presence Trigger detects an operator at the station, the Hub signals the Solenoid Control to open the valve. When the operator walks away, the valve closes automatically. No manual shutoff to forget, no gas left running overnight. Available in three pipe sizes to match your existing gas line.

Compatibility

Designed to pair with the GRIT Presence Trigger (GA-TR8000) and any GRIT Hub system. The Presence Trigger detects the operator; the Hub tells the Solenoid Control to open. Works with standard inert gas lines (argon, CO2, argon/CO2 mix) for MIG and TIG welding. Not designed for acetylene or other fuel gases — consult GRIT before ordering for fuel gas applications. Hub Pro required for RFiD access control and multi-zone systems.

Installation

Install inline with the gas supply line at the welding station. Shut off gas supply before installation. Connect to a 12V DC power source and pair with the Hub through the GRIT app. We recommend a licensed plumber or qualified technician for gas line work.

Important Notes

Verify your gas line diameter before ordering — select the valve size that matches your existing pipe fitting. Not rated for fuel gases (acetylene, propane) without prior consultation with GRIT. Systems with GRIT Track require a software upgrade (+20%) — contact us before ordering so we can configure your devices.
