GRIT Solenoid Control

Solenoid Control

Automated valve control for compatible welding-gas and compressed-air systems.

The GRIT Solenoid Control is a normally closed brass solenoid valve used to enable a reviewed welding-gas supply or compressed-air line through the local GRIT Hub. Pair it with a compatible Trigger or configured access workflow so the valve opens only when the mapped condition is met, then closes when that condition ends. Available in three pipe sizes to match the reviewed installation.

GRIT Solenoid Control connected to an actuated valve and workshop piping

Key Features

  • Normally closed valve: The valve returns to its closed position when control power is removed
  • Configurable activation: Pair with a compatible Trigger or access workflow to enable the line only when its mapped condition is met
  • Two common applications: Control reviewed welding-gas supplies or enable compressed air for pneumatic tools
  • Three valve sizes: 1/2", 3/4", and 1" brass fittings for a reviewed piping installation
  • Local event records: The Hub records commanded valve-state changes; operator attribution is available when the configured workflow includes an identified user
  • Mesh connectivity: Communicates with the GRIT Hub over the GRIT Mesh Network — no Wi-Fi required at the valve
  • Status LED: RGB LED indicates valve open, closed, or fault at a glance

Compatibility

Designed for a GRIT Hub system and a reviewed control workflow. Common applications include standard inert welding-gas lines (argon, CO2, argon/CO2 mix) for MIG and TIG welding and compressed-air lines serving pneumatic tools. Valve material, seal compatibility, pressure, flow, pipe size, and control sequence must be confirmed for the specific medium and installation. Not designed for acetylene or other fuel gases without prior consultation with GRIT. Hub Pro is required for RFiD access control and multi-zone systems.

Installation

Install inline with the reviewed gas or compressed-air supply. Isolate and depressurize the line before installation. Connect to a 12V DC power source and pair with the Hub through the GRIT app. Use a licensed plumber or qualified technician where required for the medium, pressure, and local code.

*GRIT Hub is required for device functionality.

Important Notes

Verify your gas line diameter before ordering — select the valve size that matches your existing pipe fitting. Not rated for fuel gases (acetylene, propane) without prior consultation with GRIT. Systems with GRIT Track require a software upgrade (+20%) — contact us before ordering so we can configure your devices.
