Hi, I'm Jacqueline with GRIT. Today I wanna talk a little bit about gate control and retrofitting onto your existing metal blast gates. We get a lot of questions about whether we sell blast gates, we do not, and what types of blast gates we retrofit onto. So let me walk through the ones that do work, that are compatible, and the one that does not. So you want a metal blast gate, not a plastic blast gate. You want a blast gate that has a free sliding slide. It does not have to have this extra part,
there are some that don't have that open side to the slide so that it's a little more compact, totally your choice. They have this little locking mechanism, we just recommend that you take that all the way out. If you just loosen it, sometimes the vibration from an opening and closing repeatedly can start to wiggle it back in, which you wouldn't want any resistance to the gate control that is opening and closing your blast gate. So that style of gate is good. I know Jet, Oneida, POWERTEC all have their own versions, all of those are just fine.
We also retrofit nicely onto Nordfab quick connect. Again, if you're looking for this nice slide, nice and smooth, no resistance. There is a new kind of POWERTEC gate, however, that doesn't play nicely with our gate control. It is the new version that has this locking feature. It is difficult, you have to put some muscle into it, even when you're controlling it manually. So this is not a good candidate for our gate control mechanisms. One way to easily tell if you're not sure, if you're searching online, is this has kind of like a two hole layout
