We're going to walk through what it looks like to install the GRIT MagSwitch Collector device on a Laguna dust collector. Let's check it out. First things first, we should kill the power. There are three parts that need to be installed when you're putting in a MagSwitch Collector. First part is the two cable connector that goes to your power, so that's going to run to the two lines of your AC. And then we have the current transformer or the little donut. And then the third item is the connector with four wires.

After that we're going to unscrew slightly on the bottom that holds the lid on. And I found that using some tape on the lid helps setting things up. First thing we can do is we're going to put in the current transformer. That's the little donut shaped guy. On the wire that runs to the motor of your dust collector which is going to be on the bottom side of your contactor. Unscrew one of those legs and screw it back in.

This allows GRIT to know when the dust collector is actually running and measure the current that's being drawn. The next part we want to do is connect the power wires. This is the two wire connector. This goes to the legs on the top side of the contactor that are coming from the wall, the mains power. This is to then give power to the actual GRIT MagSwitch device. Next we'll tackle the last of the wire harnesses. That's the wire harness that has four wires. It's got a blue, a red, a green, and a black. There's two switches.

There's one that you push to turn it on and there's one that you would push to then turn it off. The one that you use to turn it on is this top one here and it has it's marked with normally open and there's a terminal of three and a terminal four. For the terminal three we are going to unscrew and plug in the red wire. Next we're going to take the blue wire and plug it into the other side terminal 4. We're going to take the black wire out of terminal 3 and we want to twist that together

with the GRIT black wire and put on a wire nut. And finally, we plug the green wire into terminal 3 of this off switch. Replace any wires that you had taken off. Next, grab the MagSwitch Collector device and plug in each of the connectors.

If there's room within the box, you can go ahead and leave this unit inside. If there's not, sometimes you have to drill a little hole on the side and run the wires through. And that's it. Take the tape off and replace the lid. And that's how you install the GRIT MagSwitch Collector device in a Laguna dust collector. Thank you.
