GRIT VFD Collector

Collector

MODBUS automation for dust collectors running on a variable frequency drive.

The VFD Collector communicates with compatible industrial variable frequency drives over MODBUS RTU. When a GRIT Trigger reports demand, the GRIT Hub sends the configured start, stop, or speed response for the active tool or zone. Existing VFD programming, safety interlocks, and site commissioning remain part of the installed system.

Compatibility

For compatible industrial dust collection systems with a supported MODBUS RTU control path. It does not work with drives that lack a supported communication interface or installations where the required commands cannot be added while preserving existing safety controls and interlocks. Contact GRIT with the VFD manufacturer, model, and firmware before ordering.

Installation

Mount the device inside or near the drive enclosure, land the MODBUS leads on the drive's communication terminals, supply 6V-24V DC to the power terminal, and pair it with the GRIT Hub through the GRIT App. We recommend a licensed electrician for work inside a VFD enclosure.

*GRIT Hub is required for device functionality.
