A physical key can be copied, a keypad code can be shared, and a cabinet left open tells you nothing about who requested access.

Door construction, existing hardware, release method, power requirements, egress, fire code, and fail-safe or fail-secure behavior vary by opening. Send GRIT photos and hardware details so the application can be reviewed.

Configure the opening

Match latch behavior to the reviewed hardware.

The real Hub interface lets an administrator name the opening, select momentary or power-to-lock behavior, set feedback polarity, associate the RFID reader, and configure warning and alert timing.

Step by step

How it works.

01Review the opening

Confirm the door or cabinet, existing hardware, power, release behavior, and applicable life-safety requirements.

02Install compatible hardware

Mount and wire the GRIT Latch and credential reader for the reviewed application.

03Assign permissions

Configure which GRIT Track users can request release at that opening.

04Present a badge

The reader sends the credential to the local Hub for a permission check.

05Release or remain locked

An authorized request releases the compatible latch for its configured interval. A denied request does not.

06Review badge-ins

Use the GRIT interface to review the door or cabinet’s recorded credential events.

Know the boundary

A badge-in record is not an occupancy or muster system.

The GRIT Latch records credential events at the controlled opening. It does not, by itself, prove that a person exited, determine who remains inside, or replace required emergency-egress and life-safety systems.
